Security Officer

Job Purpose

To maintain the security ofproperty, personnel, customers, and premises both logical and physical. TheOfficer is responsible for maintaining the security service level agreements(SLA’s) of Service Providers, safeguarding property and investigating securitybreaches

Key Responsibilities


  • Plan and coordinate securityoperations and assignments
  • Monitor security operationalexpenses against approved budget
  • Assist in the development andimplementation of security policies, protocols and procedures


  • Conduct frequent security checksto maintain order and establish presence
  • Monitor and authorize entrance ofvehicles or people in the property
  • Remove wrongdoers or trespassersfrom the area
  • Secure all exits, doors andwindows after end of operations
  • Check surveillance camerasperiodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
  • Investigate people for suspiciousactivity or possessions
  • Respond to alarms byinvestigating and assessing the situation
  • Apprehend and detain perpetratorsaccording to legal protocol before arrival of authorities
  • Submit reports of dailysurveillance activity and important occurrences
  • Write, maintain and presentdetailed reports, noting any damages, theft, and/or other irregular activity
  • Investigate and take theappropriate lawfully action as authorized by the corporate policy on accidents,incidents, trespassing, suspicious activities, safety and fire incidents


  • Ensure all security personneloperate within the confines of the Zambian laws
  • Maintain the company’s reputationwith professionalism and legal compliance


  • Maintain the general security ofpersonnel, customers, property and personnel
  • Active patrols, strict accesscontrol, operational surveillance equipment, monitoring and timely incidencereporting

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Degree in law or Security andCrime Science or Security and Investigation or other relevant qualification.
  • Relevant Professional Body
  • Minimum of 2 years’ Security andinvestigation experience

  • Experience in Security in theTelecommunications industry will be an added advantage
