ASSISTANT FACILITIES AND SITE ACQUISITION OFFICER - INF 7

Job Purpose

Responsible for site acquisition, facilitiesmanagement and management of lease contracts. 

Key Responsibilities

Planning

  • Provide input into the operational plans for the unit from afacilities/services perspective
  • Plan and oversee the completion of pre-construction permitapplications to various jurisdictions and coordinate the inspections -Approvals from Department of Civil Aviation, Zambia Environmental ManagementAgency, Road Development Agency and other relevant jurisdictions
  • Plan and oversee the completion of lease/purchase applications

 

Site Acquisitions             

  • Conduct preliminary site candidate
  • Scrutinize candidate-specific recommendations for leasingand land use viability
  • Liaise with the planning team on the viability of proposedsite locations
  • Establish land ownership
  • Maintain Site Database

 

Facilities/Service Coordination

  • Negotiate for outright purchase or lease for acquired sites
  • Coordinate and arrange for surveys of acquired land tofacilitate preparation of survey diagrams
  • Liaise with local authorities such as Ministry of Lands toensure purchased land is put on title
  • Liaise with utilities to ensure that necessary facilitiessuch as power, water and sewerage are available at sites
  • Ensure that applicable land rates, rentals and levies aresettled in a timely manner
  • Day to day supervision of site construction works to ensurecompliance with standards
  • Acceptance of completed site build works and handover toNetwork projects teams by negotiating rentals with the landowners or arrangingfor outright purchases 

 

People Management

  • Build and enforce a caring approach towards all clients andcustomers
  • Communicate actively and effectively resolving any potentialconflicts that may arise and sharing and providing relevant information


Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma (Civil / Building science or equivalent) from a reputable University
  • Project Management Qualification desirable.
  • Member of EIZ
  • 3 years’ experience in site acquisition, lease management, and civil works preferably in telecoms industry
