Job Description

To supervise and undertake the installation, maintenance and repair of Instrumentation systems and devices for the Zambia Region in order to ensure effective monitoring, control and protection of the refinery feedstock during transportation. (The position is at the Zambia Region at Bwana Mkubwa, in Ndola).

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Planning: Undertakes effectively the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programmes on pipeline instruments in order to ensure their working order 
  • Installations and Modifications: Undertakes timely installations and commissioning of new process control and monitoring equipment and modifications of existing ones in order to facilitate their use and continuity of operations
  • Repairs: Supervises and undertakes promptly, the repair of breakdowns on Instrumentation installations in order to prevent disruptions of operations
  • Requisition of Materials: Supervises periodically the requisition of spares and inputs in order to meet sectional requirements
  • Sectional Budgeting: Undertakes efficiently, forecasting of requirements, scheduling expenses and creating budgets in order to facilitate resource mobilization
  • Induction of operations Staff: Supervises timely, the induction of operations staff to new installations and modifications of instrumentation systems, in order to build capacity to utilize equipment efficiently and safely
  • Quality Control: Checks and ensures regularly that all works done at workshops and field conform to appropriate engineering standards in order to ensure their quality and durability
  • Maintenance of safety: Ensures that safety gear and equipment are available and safety regulations are followed at all working sites in order to facilitate the well-being of staff.
  • Performance Management: Undertakes the implementation of performance management systems in order monitor and evaluate performance and develop remedial measures
  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate
  • BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
  • Ability to prepare technical and analytical reports
  • Excellent oral skills
  • Creative problem-solving and troubleshooting
  • Computer Aided Design
  •  Excellent critical thinking and computation skills
  • Strong supervisory and teamwork skills
  • Minimum of 4 years' work experience
