Job Description

To undertake the design, development, acquisition and implementation of appropriate application systems in the company in order to facilitate effective utilisation of ICTs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Systems Applications: Undertakes effectively the design, development, acquisition and implementation of appropriate application systems in order to promote innovations and efficient service delivery
  • Systems Analysis: Undertakes regularly systems analysis and user needs assessments in order to inform system acquisition, design and development
  • System Documentation: Undertakes effectively the development of system documentation and system inventory in order to facilitate maintenance and ease of use
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: undertake timely M & E of the implementation of the application systems in order to facilitate the development of appropriate interventions
  • Database Management: undertakes effectively the development, update and maintenance of databases in order to facilitate storage and retrieval of information
  • Website Management: undertakes effectively the management of the institutional website in order to ensure its up to date and functional.
  • Full Grade Twelve (12) Certificate
  • Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent 
  • Developer Certifications in Microsoft Dynamics NAV will be an added advantage.
  • Member of ICTAZ
  • Strong knowledge of software development and systems support, with the ability to develop, customize, or support applications aligned to TAZAMA’s operational systems, including ERP (Knowledge in Microsoft Dynamics NAV is an added advantage), reporting, and integration platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting, particularly within an enterprise and industrial environment supporting pipeline operations, depots, stations, and head office users.
  • Proficiency in enterprise operating systems, including Windows Server and desktop environments, with working knowledge of Linux and Windows OS considered an added advantage, especially for backend systems and integrations.
  • Solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking, Wi-Fi technologies, and internet protocols, including support for geographically distributed sites, secure connectivity between sites.
  • Good understanding of enterprise systems, including ERP (Microsoft Dynamics NAV), document management systems and ICT service management/helpdesk tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for printers and ICT peripheral devices, particularly those supporting finance, operations, and administrative functions across multiple locations.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new technologies, especially those supporting pipeline operations, automation, system integrations (e.g. ERP), and evolving ICT governance and security frameworks.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience
